Hand wrought iron shaman bells

These bells are hand made individually out of iron (mild steel). They have been inspired by bells found on a siberian shamans antler headdress. Iron was believed to be a strong material on a shamans spirit journey, particularly as protection from bad/evil spirits (Excerpts from siberian shamanism,http://www.sacred-texts.com/sha/sis/index.htm). This belief can be found also in UK superstition, with iron being lucky to find and protection from witches or witchcraft (Oxford Dictionary of Superstitions). Also in siberian shaman dress bells where a prominent part of the outfit, with the belief of any items making a sound being special.
